Two Nigerians Arrested For Solicitation Of Prostitution In U.S.A

Two Nigerians, Sunday Okerie and Januarous Ezeikwe, have been arrested alongside another non-Nigerian during a Houston Police Department (HPD) operation targeting pr+stitution in Southwest Houston, Texas.

On September 28, 2026, HPD’s Vice Division conducted a proactive prostitution operation in the area, resulting in the arrest of three individuals for felony pr+stitution as buyers.

The police announced the arrests on October 2, stating: “On September 28, HPD Vice Division conducted a proactive prostitution operation in Southwest Houston, resulting in the arrest of three individuals for felony pr+stitution (buyer).”

Okerie and Ezeikwe were reportedly arrested for alleged solicitation of prostitution, an offence covered under Section 43.021 of Texas law.

The law states that a person commits an offence if they knowingly offer or agree to pay a fee to another person for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct.

A first offence can attract 180 days to two years in a state jail facility and a fine of up to $10,000, while a second offence carries two to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Reports say Okerie and Ezeikwe could therefore face up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, depending on the category of the alleged offences.
