Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly def!ling his eight-month-old stepdaughter in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
According to the statement, a report was received on Wednesday, August 26, alleging that the suspect, Balarabe Adamu, a resident of Lame in Toro LGA and stepfather of the victim, “sexually abused his 8-month-old stepdaughter, who was brought to his residence by his wife.”
Following the incident, the victim was immediately taken to the General Hospital, Toro, for medical examination and treatment.
Upon receipt of the report, operatives attached to Gumau Division swiftly responded and arrested the suspect.
He is currently in custody and undergoing investigation.
