FG Launches 100 Electric Buses For Federal Civil Servants

The Federal Government has commissioned 100 electric buses under the Renewed Hope Mass Transit Programme to provide safer, more affordable and reliable transportation for federal civil servants nationwide.

The first batch consists of 37 locally assembled electric buses, with the remaining 63 expected to be deployed in phases. The pilot service will operate on selected routes before expanding across the Federal Civil Service.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, described the initiative as her “parting gift” to federal workers as she prepares to leave office. She said the buses are intended to reduce workers’ transportation costs, improve safety and punctuality, and boost productivity.

The government also urged civil servants to protect the buses as public assets and use the service responsibly.
