An unnamed retired Army Colonel has been allegedly killed on Monday night at an estate beside the Army Post Service Housing Estate Kurudu Phase 5 Abuja
The suspected gang of robbers numbered about 8 - 10 according to an eye witnesses account
The incident happened between 9.30pm to 10.15pm
The gang fled when a team of soldiers from the Army Estate and policemen from Kurudu Divisional Police arrived the location
It will recalled that a group of Fulani bandits attacked a resident of the Post Service Housing Estate in April 2026. The attempted kidnap was unsuccessful leading to the death of one of the criminals and arrest of some suspects
A patrol team from Army HQ Garrison with patrol base in Karishi also arrived the scene to reinforce the security agencies in the locality

Tbis was a notice sent to residents of an adjourning estate by the Estate Association when the incident was ongoing
"Residents are kindly informed to note that there has been a security breach in the past 2 hours during the rain in a location which is about 5 minutes from the estate heading towards sabon gari.
A retired Colonel residing in the location was shot and killed in his residence. His wife and another member of the household were also shot and have just been evacuated to the hospital.
All and sundry are informed to please take note and maintain vigilance at all time please."
