Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has said authorities are yet to identify those responsible for the recent deadly attack in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos.
Mutfwang made the disclosure after meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja to brief him on the security situation in the state.
The governor explained that security agencies have not apprehended any of the attackers, making it difficult to determine both their identities and motives. He described the incident as complex, noting that such crises often involve multiple factors.
According to him, the attack— which left dozens dead— is being treated as an act of criminality and terrorism, stressing that it cannot be justified under any circumstance.
Mutfwang also revealed that while a curfew was imposed and later relaxed, there were fresh attempts by hoodlums to disrupt peace, though security forces were able to bring the situation under control.
The meeting with the president forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security response and restore normalcy in Plateau State following the violence.
