Inspector-General
of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has directed the Assistant Inspector General
(AIG) in charge of Zone 6 Calabar, Adisa Baba Bolanta to relocate to Port
Harcourt in preparation for the supplementary elections in Rivers State slated
for Saturday, March 19.
A statement from police spokesperson ACP Olabisi Kolawole yesterday said the IGP also deployed three Commissioners of Police to supervise security arrangements within the three Senatorial Districts - Rivers East, Rivers West and Rivers South East.
She said
6000 conventional policemen and 14 units of the Police Mobile Force (MOPOL)
would be deployed to compliment the personnel in the Rivers State command
during the election.
