President Muhammadu Buhari has called on world leaders to speed up action in tackling the problem of climate change. The president said greater global cooperation was necessary to avoid the devastating effects of climate change to avert disaster for the human race in the 21st century.

Buhari stated this yesterday in Abu Dhabi at the opening of the 2016 World Future Energy Summit. While addressing world leaders, Buhari reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to work with the United Arab Emirates and rest of the world in a collective effort to mitigate the effects of climate change.
