Ojukwu Would Have Joined APC If He Were Alive..Rochas Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha apparently in response to his bitter critics over his dumping of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) for the All Progressive Congress(APC), declared that if the late Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu were still alive, that he  would have not only given his consent but would have joined the APC.
He noted in a statement that the late Ikemba Ojukwu while alive had been concerned with, how to launch Ndi-Igbo back to the mainstream of Nigeria politics after the civil war.
“That was why, when he came back from exile in 1982, he did not join the Nigeria Peoples Party, NPP, that was somewhat ethnic, but joined the National Party of Nigeria, NPN, that was national both in outlook and in operations.
“And the NPN then unlike the PDP of today, had an Igbo man as Vice President and other Igbo sons and daughters in sensitive positions” the statement reads.
Okorocha further stated that Ikemba Ojukwu also joined APGA at the time he did, to protest against the gross marginalization of Ndi-Igbo by the PDP, with no Igbo holding any sensitive position either in the PDP-led federal government or in the party.
“Ikemba Ojukwu would have therefore joined the APC with other progressives across the country having seen the party as the one that has good opportunities for the Igbos, even to become the president of the country.
Since Ojukwu had died, God gave Governor Okorocha the wisdom and the vision to take Ndi-Igbo to APC.
What men and women of goodwill of Igbo extraction should do, is join him for leading the Igbos into APC”.
According to the governor  a total of 637,000 Imo people registered with the APC during the last registration exercise in the state, which he noted was the highest  number any party would register.

  1. Gov. Okorocha is a fool to have said that if Ikemba would have been alive he would have joined APC, Ikemba Ojukwu even in his grave will never confide on a Yoruba man like Bola Tinubu, Ikemba is a great historian and would never forget what Awolowo caused the Igbo's during the civil war, It was Awolowo's agreement with Ikemba to declare Biafra and he will declare Oduduwa republic and Ikemba did and Awolowo then fought against him by cooperating with the Nigerian troops under the then leadership of Gowon, Okorocha is stupid, An odinary Igbo man can never and ever confide with a Yoruba man whenever it comes to politics in Nigeria, Okorocha should know that he is a one term governor, period.

    1. Can you please mention one document, article or book that mention Chief Awolowo's agreement with Ojukwu that he was going to declare Oduduwa republic? I will be glad to have such article. We need to be correctly informed as misinformation damages so much.

    2. You also deliberately forget d fact that is is on record that it is a yoruba man that has displayed unprecedented bravery of insisting to die with an Ibo head of state in person of General J T U Aguiyi Ironsi. That was Col. Adekunle Fajuyi. No other tribe has manifested that level of patriotism and brabery in Nigeria. Even your idol in person of Ojukwu will not do it and that was the reason he ran for his dear life at the colapse of Biafra. A real man would have rather stayed back and face any consequence after making over 2million innocent people to die in that war.

    3. I would have just read your trash & bye-passed buh ur irresponsible attack on the people's late warlord. Be careful. I advise that all the ethnic regions/extractions that make up this comatose called Nigeria should be careful because if you (Olaopa) think that the world will sit back again & watch a race facing extinction, then youre deluded. I assure you that Far East/Asia has non-tested weapons of warfare (wwf) ready for idiotic & irresponsible African/other nations ruled by inordinate politicians. So stop inferring that the late Ojukwu fled as I can assure you that the Igbos are known for resilience, tacticalism, ingenuity, etc & have the capability of chasing all other ethnic regions out of Nigeria we it return to 1966-70. BE WARNED ABIODUN!

Its ur personal decision to join Apc or cpa but dnt drag Great Ikemba's name to d mud by dat ur foolish and senseless statement. I dnt belong to any party but I can assure you dat apc has nothing better or different to offer. Check them out, Buhari, tinubu, aggrieved El-rufai, inconsistent Atiku, or who? Rochas!

  13. Foolish people. Was Ojukwu not a member of NPN (Northen Party)? Was he not in ANPP (Northen Party). The igbos are foolish politically without any bearing. The west has always been
in opposition , yet they get all they ever wanted. The foolish Igbos has always stayed with the ruling party and yet they got nothing till date. GEJ can and put Azikiwe and Ebele on his name and my foolish igbo brothers followed him and today, they are supporting him. Why did GEJ not put kunle or Adamu on his name? Rochas is more intelligent than all of them. Time will tell. Business we are good, politics, we are zero.

    1. Yes Ikemba joined the Northern Party then because he was digging foundation for the house, now the house is to be lived in that is why he founded APGA and handed it over to useless Okorocha. Now Okorocha want to start a fresh foundation, tell him he was called to live in a House and not to build the house.

  14. Okorocha is a political footballer, we love what APC did to him and Rotimi. They are now APC supporters while the Yorubas and Housas will be their President and Vice. Maybe they have promised them the next election of 2019, by then they will change APC to APD and Atiku will come for President while Fashiola will be his running mate then Okorocha and Rotimi will sign another club. Useless men with personal interests.
