Northern Governors Head To US To Seek Assistance On Boko Haram

Governors of some states in the North are in Washington to meet with top United States officials to seek the solution to Boko Haram insurgency.
It could not be ascertained how many of them were already in the United States but Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima and Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda who arrived on Sunday took the opportunity of their early arrival to meet with the world’s richest man, Bill Gates, to get support for their states on polio eradication.
They were at the headquarters of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation yesterday for the meeting.
They are expected to meet with White House officials, President Barack Obama, Congresssional leaders, the National Intelligence Council and the European Union (EU) developmental agencies, among others.

  1. What is the meaning of this?Units in a sovereign state going out to look for help on Boko Haram?What a statement on the Sovereignty of d Nigerian state and the allegiance of d federating units to the centre!A vote of no confidence in the on-going efforts to wipe out Boko Haram,I guess.
    Considering the apparent endorsement of dz govnors of BH,one would have expected dem to seek help from Pakistan,Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia. Mtchew!

  3. Thank God the northern elders including their govs are now waking up from their slumber. What they initially considered as joke has developed to a monster that is almost consuming the entire region. I wish them well.

  4. Hmmmm, i stongly believe that the help they are looking for from USA is right around them if they can be truthful to themselves. All they need to do is to ask themselves who are the sponsors to this group. I tell you if the sponsors and supporters are known, you wont need this trip to USA.

  7. Foreign assistant is never a solution to ur problems in d north, he who open d lion's mouth, know best how to close the lion's mouth, so. Let all d northern leaders aggree on no boko haram in d north n so shall it be, let dem stop fooling demself.
