Students of Bowen University yesterday embarked on a violet demonstration in the school premises.They destroyed several school properties in the process as well as set several cars on fire.The students were protesting the high handedness of the new Vice Chancellor of the Institution. According to some of them interviewed by CKN Nigeria,the new VC has introduced certain policies that was not acceptable to the students.Apart from increasing the school fees by over 40%,the VC have also ratio electricity in the campus in order to save cost. Generating sets in the school are now put on within a certain period in the campus,when there is no public power supply.He has also been accused of rationing food at the school's cafeteria.The students have vowed not to go back to their classes until the VC is removed.
