Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF),
Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has queried the Coordinator of the Thank God Its
Centenary (TGIC), Mrs. Angela Onuko for being monotonous towards the campaign
of the nation’s 100 years celebration.
Anyim said there was need for
creativity, dynamism and strategic plan towards the celebration as well as Post
Centenary celebration.
The SGF spoke
at an award ceremony for 12 winners who
had contributed immensely towards national issues via the centenary facebook
platform, at the weekend in Abuja.
According to him, there was need to
be proactive for the project to achieve its purpose, before and after the
celebration.
However,he assured that a number of
youths would be employed in the centenary city project, set to kick start soon.
On her part, the coordinator, Angela
Onuko noted that about 20 million youths visited the TGIC platform, but added
that only sixteen thousand were dedicated ambassadors of the platform.
Anyim said: “ I want you to throw
open likely questions of discourse on national issues to the public. Issues of
discourse should not always come from you.
“You need to be creative and have a
good plan. For instance, do you look beyond the post-centenary celebration and
I don’t want this whole thing to be monotonous, otherwise it won’t achieve its
objective.”
The SGF honoured the 12 awardees and
tasked them to be more patriotic as well as be good ambassadors of the nation’s
centenary celebration.
