Lagos State Governor,
Babatunde Fashola, on Thursday recalled the 788 doctors sacked by his
administration earlier this month.
The recall followed the intervention of the Federal Government, as well as some eminent Nigerians.
Their intervention was meant to prevent the face-off between the doctors and the state government from degenerating to a national crisis, as resident doctors embarked on a three-day warning strike on Thursday to press home their demand for the recall of the sacked physicians.
The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers had also embarked on a strike to pressurise the state government to recall the doctors.
Fashola had said last week that he would recall the doctors if advised to do so.
On Monday, the state government lost its bid to stop the National Industrial Court from hearing the suit instituted b y the doctors against their sacking
