Former Governor of Nasarawa state Aliyu Akwe-Doma has died in Israel following a brief illness, one of his nephews Ahmed Bako said. He was 75.
Akwe-Doma was said to have passed on at a hospital in Israel, Bako told Premium Times. Further reports noted that sympathisers have gathered at Akwe-Doma’s house in Orozo, Karshi district of Abuja.
He governed Nasarawa State between 2007 to 2011, when he was defeated by incumbent governor Umaru Al-makura.
