AMBODE SWEARS IN LG CHAIRMEN AS SENATE REMOVES POWER TO ORGANIZE LG ELECTION FROM STATE

Ambode swears in newly elected LG chairmen with these words

"As you settle down to the business of governance, you must bear in mind that the participation of the people in governance does not end with elections.

The people must be carried along and given the opportunity to have a say in policy making process and implementation".

Meanwhile the Senate today voted and approved the  removal of  the powers to organize Local Government elections from the State Independent Electoral Commissions.

Henceforth INEC is the only agency authorized to organise such elections
