The incident occurred barely two days after the Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, Dr Muslim Omoleke, was abducted at Iwaraja town, in Osun State. Omoleke was released on Friday night in Ilesha.

They were said to have been taken while traveling in two vehicles along Ise Ekiti road, in Ise/Orun Local Government area of the state.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, but said that two of the abducted persons had been found, adding that his men were on the trail of the hoodlums to ensure the release of the others.
