The
newly appointed commissioner representing Cross River State on the board of the
Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Sylvester Nsa, who assumed work
officially over the weekend, has expressed surprise that he met only two
vehicles at the commission office in Calabar.
After inspecting the office and meeting with staff, he said with only two vehicles, he did not know how the commission would monitor projects across the state.
He also
expressed sadness over the array of projects of the agency which were abandoned
in the state.
He said the commission was perceived as a bastion of corruption, proven by abandoned projects and properties that were seriously tampered with.
Vowing that such would no longer be the situation, Nsa said efforts would be intensified to reorganize the procurement processes in the commission.
