An Elder statesman, Dr. Faruk Abdullazeez has applauded the recent verdict of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which upheld the election of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the duly elected Governor of Kogi State, saying that the governor has now been strengthened by the law to deliver good governance to the people of Kogi State.

He said: “We are particularly pleased with the pronouncement that Alhaji Yahaya Bello was validly elected. This is a pronouncement of the Law. And that confirms that there was no intention ever on the part of the party (APC) to do anything outside the law”.
He said the emergence of Alhaji Yahaya Bello from Kogi Central Senatorial District of the State was a gift from God which has satisfied the collective desire of Kogi people for power rotation amongst constituent zones in the State.
Dr. Abdullazeez appealed to all the various groups in the State to cooperate with the governor as he strives to achieve peaceful coexistence and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State.
