Barely one year to the end of his tenure, President Goodluck Jonathan has made good his promise to deliver the completed ever busy and dangerous Abuja Lokoja Expressway to Nigerians. The over 200 kilometre road that leads to the Federal Capital Territory has been a death trap for many Nigerians and attempt by successive government to complete the project has hit the wall. President Olusegun Obasanjo couldn't achieve same in is eight years tenure. When CKN Nigeria decided to take an assessment tour of the entire stretch of the road, yesterday Sunday 12th January 2014,we were amazed that over 90% of the job has been completed and the road may be finally commissioned any time soon by Mr President. These are some sections of the road as captured by our lens when we visited yesterday.

ReplyDeleteThat is not truth, I came back from Akure two days ago, some part of the road are stil under construction, infact some part has not been torched, meanwhile, it is an inherited project from OBJ administration, a lots of bridges need to be built, I would rather conclude that the Road is 75% completion.

ReplyDeleteWhy is it that there are no road markings and traffic codes on the road? I should say that they are essential. Haven't said that, I am happy to hear that the contractor was commited to his job. thanks.
ReplyDeleteI drove myself from abuja to owerri (south east) this govt is sincere on the road construction,ABuja - Lokoja that use to be a death trap,not even a single accident did I meet on the road both my to and from movement,I give it to GEJ,with my vote in 2015 I will say thank u sir.

ReplyDeleteThis is one out many of GEJ's deliveries,as we speak work is ongoing in d ever busy East West Road as a matter of fact dat road would be completed soon.abeg GEJ is trying and if all our past presidents have done like dis Nigeria wd av been far more developed dan dis.come 2015 I'll gladly give GEJ my vote.

ReplyDeleteThe contract has included a dual carriage from lokoja to Benin. Work on that side is already above 50%. There's also a sort of by-pass to lokoja-Abuja road(otukpo-owedi-abuja road) which is now over 90% completion. Sincerely, GEJ is delivering!
