CNN Rejects FG Advert On GEJ Visit To China

The International news network CNN has rejected an advertorial sent to it by the Nigeria government to promote the recent five days visit of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the People's Republic of China. The advert which was already paid for by the Government was to highlight some of the key areas of achievement of the visit. But the CNN said the advert had some political undertone and rejected the advert but did not release the money ..It requested the money be "kept for future businesses" with Nigeria which obviously did not go down well with Nigeria

  15. I can remember that GEJ and other election was well adverised, nigeria media outfit would have been pleased to air the advert repeated, perfectly and in a less expenssive terms. Well our illitrate and propagandous politician probably thought CNN is like NTA that would help them take their political fight to the next level. Most of this politicians should go back to school and learn how to tackle opposition and develop their own media outfit. Obasi JNR

  17. CNN has the right to reject an advert but not hold unto the money. So the goverment should request for a refund immediately rather than sit on their backside.
