70 Ore Accident Victims To Be Given Mass Burial Today

The Management of University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, has said that it will conduct a mass burial for 70 accident victims, today.
UBTH Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Kehinde Ibitoye, in a statement in Benin, Edo State, said the victims were involved in auto-crashes which occurred on Friday, April 5, at Ugbogui village on the Benin-Ore expressway.
The accident involved a luxury bus, a fuel tanker and a trailer belonging to Dangote Group of Companies.
Ibitoye said the hospital’s management was negotiating with Oredo Local Government Area for land for the mass burial, adding that all the victims were burnt beyond recognition.
She said the only accident victim who was brought alive to the hospital also died, noting that no passenger survived the accident.
Sympathising with relatives of the victims, she said: “The management is left with no other option because the bodies are burnt beyond recognition.
“It is not in the interest of the hospital and its immediate environs to continue to keep such bodies.”

Please CKN, either remove the column called 'popular post' or make it more relevant, because as it is now, it is misleading. How. News that are over 1 year are still being displayed as news. Another word for such news is 'stale news' or 'history'. I think stories should no longer be 'news' if they are more than 1 week old. A suggested adjusted to that column could be 'popular posts for last week', and should be updated regularly every week and where there are no popular posts, I think it is better to keep that column clean or find better alternatives. I presume the 'n' in your acronim means news and not history. Give us news please.
