Exclusive:Tribute To My Late Dad..Prof Onwuliri ,Ex VC FUTO Who Died In Dana Crash

Thank you all for your condolences. My Dad was a great man one of whose main credits include Transforming FUTO where he powered an infrastructure development plan that left the University with more than 50 brand new buildings before he concluded his tenure as Vice Chancellor. On one of my visits from Saudi Arabia, I witnessed him commission six new buildings in FUTO in one day.
I am proud to have had him as a Father. We are just starting to recover from the shock of what happened. We found him in tact, with his shoes, his clothes, wedding ring on his finger, and holding a rosary- no burns, no bruises. We thank God.

The preliminary autopsy report done last Tuesday stated that he had just passed the day before  (monday) meaning he survived the plane crash and was awake through out the night on Sunday into Monday. This brings great sadness that our (Nigerian) rescue could not act appropriately on time.
The media also played a hand in this, reporting very early that everyone on the flight was dead even when the rescue had not opened all sections of the crashed plane. Their report discouraged us from thinking/acting towards organizing a personal rescue that might have saved him.

We are not sure what happened was Gods will, but we know that God permitted it. And so we believe that God knows best. We believe My Dad is in a world free from all the problems we experience on a daily basis, all the hustle, bustle and struggles of our world.

Personally, I think enjoyment in this world is over-rated and what lies after here is better than our best imaginations. In this, amongst others, I take solace that my Dad is way better off. We thank God for the precious time we had with him and we will miss him dearly. May His soul rest in peace. Amen
Thanks again everyone.
One Love
