ADC Rejects Court’s Judgment On Atiku , David Mark

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected the Federal High Court judgment that nullified its David Mark-led leadership and invalidated the process that produced former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to weaken the opposition and prevent the ADC from participating effectively in the 2027 elections.

The ADC alleged that the judgment had been prepared before it was delivered and that its timing, coming a day after Atiku’s campaign launch in Sokoto, raised concerns about possible political interference. These are allegations made by the party and have not been independently established.

The opposition party also questioned the legal basis of the ruling, pointing to an earlier Federal High Court decision which it said had recognised the legitimacy of the Mark-led leadership.

The ADC announced that it would challenge the judgment at the Court of Appeal, insisting that it would not abandon its political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
