The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the death of 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore, who was pushed from a two-storey building by her aunt’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph.
The incident reportedly occurred on November 1, 2026, along Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikeneagbu, Owerri, Imo State.
According to a statement by the police command, the teenager sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention. However, she died on the evening of November 3 while receiving treatment.
The police disclosed that the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that justice is served.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Audu Garba Bosso, commiserated with the deceased’s family and assured members of the public that a thorough investigation was ongoing.
