President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will address Nigerians at 7am on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as the country marks its 66th Independence anniversary.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on behalf of the State House.
According to the statement, the President’s address will be broadcast across television, radio and other electronic media platforms. Media organisations have been advised to join the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast.
The October 1 address will form part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th year of independence. President Tinubu is expected to speak to Nigerians as the country commemorates the anniversary and reflects on national issues.
The State House urged all television and radio stations, as well as other electronic media outlets, to hook up to the network broadcast for the President’s address.
