Queen Salawa Abeni has publicly announced that her recent marriage to Alhaji Rasheed Adahunse (former Comptroller and Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Training College) has broken down
She made the announcement ahead of celebrating her 50th anniversary on stage on Sunday, October 18, 2026, asking fans and supporters to join her in thanksgiving.
She reflected on her marital history, noting that after her marriages to late Leader Records founder Lateef Adepoju (which ended in 1986) and Fuji legend Kollington Ayinla (which ended in 1994), she decided to give marriage a third chance with Adahunse in 2023, which has now also ended.

I am sorry to announce that my recent marriage has ended. Things didn’t work out, and I don’t want to kpai over what wasn’t meant to be, so we have all decided to move on.
I have always loved marriage and wanted to be with a man. Looking at my mum, who never had two husbands, I hoped my own story would be different. After my first and second marriages ended, I decided to give love another chance, hoping the third time would be different. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. 😢
I am blessed with grown-up children, and you all know their father, Alhaji Kollington Ayinla.
Despite everything, I thank God for my life and my family. This Sunday, October 18, 2026, I will be celebrating 50 years on stage!
