Moove, the global mobility company founded in Lagos, has announced that it will end its operations in Nigeria, six years after launching in the country. The company said the decision comes with a “Thank You Nigeria” initiative for customers, employees and partners.
As part of the exit, Moove will transfer full ownership of eligible vehicles worth approximately ₦35 billion to existing customers who currently operate them under its financing and rental programmes. The company said customers will not be required to make further payments to Moove for the vehicles from October 1, 2026.
Moove said more than 9,000 customers have used its Drive-to-Own and rental products in Nigeria, generating approximately ₦57 billion in revenue through Moove-financed vehicles. The company will also give its Nigerian staff members a free car as part of the exit arrangements.
The Nigerian shutdown will not affect Moove’s wider international operations. The company said it now operates about 42,000 vehicles across 29 cities globally and will work directly with affected Nigerian customers and employees as it completes the transition.
