Man Disguises As Buyer To Steal Car In Lagos , Injures Many In Attempts To Escape

A suspected vehicle thief reportedly caused a deadly chain of incidents in Lagos after allegedly posing as a prospective buyer of a Toyota Tundra at VGC car lot (New Holland Auto Group).

According to reports, the suspect was handed the vehicle keys for a test drive but allegedly drove off without authorisation, gaining entry into VGC without an access code and damaging the estate’s security equipment. He reportedly struck a security personnel while escaping and continued driving towards the Chevron area.

The suspect allegedly caused further destruction along the Chevron alternative route, damaging several vehicles and fatally hitting four dispatch riders and other unsuspecting road users.

His escape came to an end after traffic congestion around Agungi slowed him down. He subsequently abandoned the major route and attempted to escape through the Ajiran area, where he was eventually apprehended.
