Former Rivers State Governor and ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi says he will withdraw from the 2027 presidential race and campaign for President Bola Tinubu if petrol sells at ₦600 per litre.
Amaechi made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, challenging the Federal Government to demonstrate that its economic reforms have improved living conditions for Nigerians.
He said he would personally visit a filling station to verify the petrol price, adding that if it had fallen to ₦600, he would withdraw from the ticket he is contesting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and support Tinubu.
Amaechi also questioned whether transportation costs had fallen as promised, arguing that Nigerians should be able to feel the impact of the government’s economic policies, including the removal of the petrol subsidy.
