The Actors Guild of Nigeria have confirmed the death of Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru
Duru died on Thursday night in Abuja at the age of 57
The President of the Guild Abubakar confirmed the date on his Facebook page
The General Secretary of the Guild Ify Okeke also confirmed his demise on a post on her verified social media handle
Many senior actors have also expressed their shock and sadness over the incident
Two veteran actors and former Presidents of the Guild Kanayo O Kanayo and Segun Arinze who spoke to CKN News described Duru’s death as a big loss to the industry
They described him as one of the best, Nigeria has produced
According to them , Duru was a professional to the core and a very amiable fellow whose loss will be felt in the industry
The Imo State born , University of Port Harcourt graduate died from an undisclosed illness
