The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday accused Governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Hope Uzodimma of sponsoring APC governors and others against him, he said the governor has been telling political stakeholders things that are not tue about his person.
Wike made the allegation during his monthly live media chat in Port Harcourt.
He claimed that Governor AbdulRahman told associates that Wike was responsible for funding politicians who failed to secure APC tickets in Kwara due to the minister’s relationship with former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The FCT Minister also faulted the Kwara governor for sidelining serving federal lawmakers in the state.
"You remove senators, you remove House of Reps. You must be a super Governor," Wike said.
"The senators you removed, you have no place for them. They are all supporting Mr President. We gave them ticket. Instead of you to appreciate us that we did not allow them to go to ADC, you are now saying I am the one sponsoring candidates in your state."
Wike also alleged that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma is engaged in similar activities in Rivers State.
He further denied reports that he assured governors that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would not field candidates in their states ahead of 2027.
"I never promised any governor that PDP will not have candidates in any state. So Kwara will not be exception. I have equally said it to the face of the Kwara governor," he stated.
He also said that president Tinubu will walk back to villa after the 2027 election, he said governors must be politically strategic while handing their states.
The comments come amid rising tension between Wike and some APC governors over party structures and political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, Confidence News Nigeria gathered.
