Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has told former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to step back from active politics and concentrate on his traditional title.
Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the NNPP, said Atiku should “go home, focus on your chieftaincy duties” and assured him that he'll take care of him.
The remark is the latest in the back-and-forth between key opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political observers say the comment underscores growing tensions within opposition ranks over who leads the coalition against the ruling party.
Both Kwankwaso and Atiku have signaled interest in contesting the presidency in 2027.
