One Dead, Four Rescued As Four-Storey Building Collapses In Enugu



One person has died while four others have been rescued after a four-storey building under construction collapsed at Independence Layout in Enugu State on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Ogbalu Street, Independence Layout, with emergency agencies including NEMA, the Nigerian Red Cross, SEMA, the Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority and the Police involved in rescue operations.

The National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the recovery of one body from the rubble, while four people were rescued from the collapsed structure. The rescue operation continued as authorities worked to determine whether anyone else remained trapped.

The cause of the collapse has not yet been established, as emergency responders and relevant authorities continue operations at the scene.
