Minister of Works David Umahi has directed that pictures of President Bola Tinubu be displayed on the First Niger Bridge after the ongoing rehabilitation works are completed.
The bridge, which links Onitsha in Anambra State with Asaba in Delta State, is currently undergoing emergency repairs after vandals removed critical structural components.
The bridge was closed to traffic earlier this month to allow the rehabilitation works, with the reopening date extended by one week due to persistent rainfall.
Umahi also ordered the removal of illegal advertisements on the bridge, saying the space would temporarily be used to display pictures of President Tinubu.
