Lagos Real Estate Mogul Arrested In UK Over $23m Alleged Fraud


A 39-year-old Nigerian man and big player in the real estate business in Nigeria , Edwin Omokhuale, has been arrested at Dublin Airport in Ireland over an alleged multi-million-dollar fraud in the United Kingdom.

Omokhuale was detained by Irish police on Wednesday afternoon while he was preparing to board a flight to Paris. His arrest followed a warrant issued by authorities in the UK.

He is wanted in connection with money-laundering allegations arising from an alleged fraud against an Australian mining company in early 2023, involving approximately $23 million.

Omokhuale was living in the UK at the time of the alleged fraud.

He appeared before a court in Dublin on Thursday, September 10, as extradition proceedings to return him to the UK begin.

He is a big player in the Real Estate business in Lagos State

He is alleged to own MOED Homes Ltd and several properties inside Cowrie Creek Estate in Lekki Lagos State
