Former Fox News staff Jennifer Eckhart Dies , Six Years After Accusing Co-worker Of Rape
Eckhart was found dead at her Florida home on Saturday, September 19, according to an incident report from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. A spokesperson confirmed that her death was ruled as suicide
Eckhart worked at Fox News for seven years, including as an associate producer at Fox Business. In 2020, she filed a lawsuit against Henry, alleging that he had sexually assaulted and raped her. Henry denied the allegations.
In her lawsuit, Eckhart also alleged that Henry asked her to be his “sex slave,” threatened punishment and retaliation if she did not comply with his sexual demands, and took photos of her for purposes of blackmail that could destroy her career.
Fox News said it took “swift action” after learning of Eckhart’s claims and confirmed Henry was no longer employed by the network.
The network was later dismissed as a defendant in the lawsuit.
Eckhart settled her lawsuit against Henry in 2025 after a five-year legal battle. At the time, she described the case as “exhaustive” and “re-traumatizing,” but said the settlement had lifted a weight from her shoulders and renewed her passion to support tra¥ma survivors.
She later founded The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit that helps trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy, and launched the REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart podcast.
Her final Instagram post was shared on June 1, when she said she was glad to be back online and was working on “some exciting stuff” she could not wait to share.
