Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has announced that at least four police officers will be deployed to each of the 3,673 polling units across Osun State for the August 15 governorship election.
Disu said the deployment will be one of the largest security operations in the state, with personnel from other security agencies also expected to support the police.
The IGP said the scale of the operation reflects the number of polling units and the tension surrounding the election.
He also assured stakeholders that the police would remain professional, impartial and neutral throughout the electoral process
