The Liberia National Police (LNP) has forwarded to court a 30-year-old woman, Olyne T. Alade, to face prosecution on charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Mischief.
Police investigators established that the incident occurred on September 28, 2025, following an exchange of words between the suspect and two occupants of a motorbike during a traffic-related dispute.
Ms. Alade allegedly pursued the motorbike and subsequently struck it from behind, knocking both occupants to the ground. The incident resulted in the death of one of the occupants of the motorbike, while the other sustained serious injuries, including fractured legs.
Following the incident, Ms. Alade allegedly fled the scene and subsequently left Liberia for Ghana. She was later arrested in Monrovia on August 2, 2026
According to police investigators, Ms. Alade had previously been repatriated from the United States for reasons she declined to disclose during the investigation.
Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the Liberia National Police formally charged Ms. Alade and forwarded her to court for prosecution in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.
The charges are in violation of Chapter 14, Sections 14.1(a) and 14.20(a), and Chapter 15, Section 15.3, of the Revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
The case is now before the court, where the suspect will be afforded all due process rights as guaranteed under the law.
