Plateau Attack: IGP Orders Massive Deployment, Intensifies Operations

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered a massive deployment of security personnel to Plateau State following the deadly attack in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area.

The IGP condemned the incident, which claimed the lives of innocent residents, and expressed condolences to the Plateau State Government and affected families.

As part of efforts to restore peace, the police chief had earlier deployed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Umar Shehu Nadada, to assess the situation and coordinate security operations on ground.

Additional tactical teams, including Police Mobile Force units and intelligence operatives, have also been deployed in collaboration with other security agencies to strengthen security and prevent further breakdown of law and order.

The IGP assured that operations would continue until normalcy is fully restored, directing commanders to ensure visible policing and engage with vulnerable communities.

He also urged residents to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities to support ongoing efforts.
