Protests erupted in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, on Monday
The protests was in response to the ongoing killings of indigenous residents by gunmen believed to be Fulani militants.
Christian leaders including Rev. Polycarp Lubo, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria spearheaded the protect.
CKNNews in Jos reports that the protest began at the Fawvwei Junction community road, resulting in significant traffic congestion and leaving commuters stranded.
This latest protest follows a worrying spike in violent attacks across various communities in Plateau State.
In the wake of those attacks, reports had indicated that over 100 individuals have been killed in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs in the past fortnight.
The protesters carried placards that had various messages on them as they matched towards the Rayfield Government House.
