The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 Lagos State governorship election, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has announced his departure from the party along with his teeming supporters.
Jandor made this declaration today during a press conference held at Liberty Place, Ikeja, Lagos, where he addressed the reasons behind his exit from the PDP.
According to him, the decision to leave was influenced by certain leaders within the Lagos PDP, including the former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George, who he claimed worked against the PDP during the 2023 elections.
“We will consult widely with everybody and then take the decision to collapse our structure to another platform. What is majority on ground now is that we have left the Peoples Democratic Party,” Jandor stated.
His exit marks a significant shift in the Lagos political landscape, and speculations are rife regarding the new political party he and his supporters will be joining.
