NSIB Launches Probe Into Allied Air Boeing 737 Runway Mishap


 


The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has announced the commencement of an investigation into a runway excursion involving an Allied Air Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at approximately 10:06 AM local time at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Flight AJK206, which had departed from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, veered off the right side of Runway 22 upon landing.

Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported among the crew or ground personnel. However, the aircraft sustained significant damage.

Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to secure the area and assist with the situation.

The NSIB says it has deployed a team of investigators to the accident site to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and analyze data.

The goal of the investigation is to determine the root cause of the incident and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
