The notoriety of the online media Saharareporters for hatchet job and blackmail is known to Nigerians and the world at large.
Since the publisher, who jumped into politics unprepared lost control of everything, including the online media, his boys have been using the once credible online media to do yeoman job for survival. It is now for the highest bidder.
It would be recalled that the online media was continously used by a serving Senator in Enugu state against Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, PDP leaders and Bar. Peter Mbah before the PDP governorship primaries. The Senator, had thought that hiring and compromising the online media for blackmail against Governor Ugwuanyi and Mbah will help him actualise his governorship ambition in PDP. At the end, the Senator crashed like packs of cards.
With the Senator out of the race and circulation for now, the online media has since became a willing tool that is being used constantly by the aggrieved PDP members turned Nsukka Labour Party members to overtly and covertly malign and attack Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Being aided by some failed Nsukka journalists, who are sympathetic and loyal to Bar. Chijioke Edeoga's governorship ambition, that failed in PDP and still shaky in Labour Party, the notorious online media Saharareporters is being used often to peddle lies and propaganda against Governor Ugwuanyi.
Such bare-faced lie of theirs is the recent use of amorphous group and fake name as its National President to peddle fake news that Ugwuanyi's kinsmen are against his senatorial ambition for non- performance in public office.
Investigation has since revealed that there is no group in Nsukka as of today called Nsukka Collectives with a national president in the person of non-existing George Nnamdi Asogwa. All these publications against Governor Ugwuanyi on social media are concoctions and fabrications of the Nsukka Labour Party social media e-rats that failed in their professions and are not happy with Governor Ugwuanyi for not appointing them into government and not supporting Edeoga to emerge PDP governorship candidate.
Many of them are frustrated and living from hand to mouth. Governor Ugwuanyi's performance in public office since 2003 is not doubt or questionable.
If Governor Ugwuanyi has not performed as being painted by these irritants on social media, why have the people keep voting him into elective office since 2003 till date. They gave him the historic and unprecedented 95.4 percent reelection votes in 2019 as Governor?
These charlatans who are behind this fictious and fake publication on Saharareporters against Governor Ugwuanyi's senatorial ambition are jealous and worried of Governor Ugwuanyi, PDP and Mr. Peter Mbah's soaring popularity ahead of the 2023 elections.
Their erroneous and delusional belief is that continous peddling of falsehoods and lies against Governor Ugwuanyi on social media platforms with faceless groups and fake names will diminish Governor Ugwuanyi's popularity and sour his image.
To their greatest surprise and disappointment, such has not in anyway affects Governor Ugwuanyi's growing popularity and acceptance beyond Enugu since after the PDP primaries.
As it is today, Governor Ugwuanyi's Senatorial ambition is a done deal. He has no rival to contest the seat with. Those jostling as senatorial candidates of the briefcase and emergence opposition parties include the Nsukka Labour Party of Edeoga,a former Minister, Bar. Okey Ezea and co are mere pretenders with no political value or trackrecord to challenge Governor Ugwuanyi.
Governor Ugwuanyi's signature projects are numerous and staring at faces in Enugu state especially in Nsukka. They include first flyover bridge at T- Junction Nike lake road, the Opi/ Nsukka dual carriage way, the brand new specialised state university known as State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS ). It is first of it's kind in Nigeria.
Others are the Ede Oballa State Secretariat Annex, International Conference Centre, Nsukka International Stadium and many asphalted roads in Nsukka and its environs.
The list is endless.
With these enduring, life- impacting and employment-generation projects of Governor Ugwuanyi, who says that his kinsmen are against his senatorial ambition and why?
Findings revealed that obviously Ugwuanyi's kinsmen are not against his senatorial ambition. In short, they are the ones that prevailed on him to contest for the Enugu North senatorial seat, having done marvelously well in public office since 2003 till date.
