Akwa Ibom State Government has announced its intention to start the generation of its own electricity
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State Udom Emmanuel announced this today While speaking at the Akwa Ibom @ 35 Media Parley held at Banquet Hall, Govt House, Uyo.

"I have applied for the licence to distribute power. So, whatsoever we generate, we will distribute. God willing, the licence will be approved and after then, we will float Ibom Power Utility Company."
