UNIPORT Loses Alumni National President

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association has expressed shock at the death of its National President, Comrade Chris Adokeme.

Adokeme reportedly died on Monday, July 5, 2021.

The first National Vice-President of the association, Ewitat Uduak, in a statement on Wednesday expressed condolences to the bereaved family and members of the alumni group.

Uduak said: “Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy and grief at the untimely and sudden passage of our dear President. No words can describe how pained we are for this great loss at a time like this.

“We are, however, consoled by the word of God in Isaiah 61:3 to the effect that “to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning…Rest in peace, High Chief Chris Adokeme.”
