Abia State Govt,NBA At Loggerhead Over Detention Of Lawyer

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has been misinformed on the trial of a lawyer, Mr. Emperor Ogbonna, the Abia State government said on Thursday.

Dr. ACB Agbazuere, Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, said in a statement on Thursday, that Ogbonna was being prosecuted in court for cybercrime and not terrorism as allegedly claimed by the NBA.

Agbazuere said the facts put forward by NBA, (Aba branch), which the national secretariat of the NBA relied upon were “copiously false, erroneous and misleading”.

“The governor reported this case of cybercrime to the Police and the Police arrested Mr. Ogbonna and charged him before the Federal High Court in Umuahia with cybercrime and not terrorism as the misinformation from NBA Aba opines.
