Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court Abuja, yesterday, resumed sitting despite the baggage of corruption charges hanging on his neck.
By 8am yesterday, the registrars of his court were seen arranging court documents.
When asked whether the judge would be available to conduct the business of the day, one of his staff responded “We don’t know whether he will sit, but we have to play our part.”
It was later discovered that Justice Ademola sat to attend cases before him.
The DSS had last weekend arrested justices Sylvester Ngwuta and John Okoro; the suspended presiding justice of the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division, Justice Mohammed Tsamiya; Justice Kabiru Auta of the Kano State High Court, and Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Others arrested were a former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice I. A. Umezulike, and Muazu Pindiga of the Federal High Court, Gombe Division.
The security agency accused some of the judges of being ‘incurably corrupt’.
