ARMY KILLS SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS IN BAUCH STATE



The Nigerian Army says troops of 33 Brigade Nigerian Army on fighting patrol  on 9th September 2016, encountered suspected kidnappers at Lame Burra forest near Dutsen Ganye, Gunduru and Kati Layin villages, Bauchi State.

A statement from Army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman said during a heavy exchange of fire, the troops killed 7 of the kidnappers and destroyed their camps.

He added that they also recovered two AK-47 rifles and three Dane guns at the camp.

Usman explained that  two Forward Operation Bases (FOBs) were established at Lame and Jimi to cover the Lame and Burra axis of the forest respectively.

He said troops usually carry out periodic fighting patrols into the forest from the FOBs.

He also said  troops on Operation Lafiya DoleA deployed at Forward Operation  Base (FOB), Buratai in conjunction with local vigilante arrested a suspected Boko Haram terrorist named Adamu Damuna.
