Justice A.I Allagoa of the Federal High Court in Owerri, has affirmed the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Ruling on the matter filed by Mr. Friday Nwosu against, Ikpeazu, Uche Ogah, PDP and INEC, on alleged forgery of tax documents by Governor Ikpeazu, the court ruled that the plaintiff, (Nwosu) was unable to prove that the tax documents where forged.
The court ruled that the tax documents where not forged, and went further to dismiss the matter.
As the ruling from Owerri became public knowledge, spontaneous celebrations erupted at Aba and Unuahia. Meanwhile,a State High Court sitting in Umuahia has extended a stay of execution on the swearing in of Mr Uche Ogah earlier given by Justice Okon ABANG to 18th July 2016..
Meanwhile, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja has formally transferred further proceedings in the matter between Governor Ikpeazu and Uche Ogah to the court of Appeal
