The scheduled arraignment of former
ministers, Femi Fani- Kayode and Nenandi Usman before a Federal High Court in
Lagos over allegation of money laundering was yesterday stalled following the
absence of the presiding judge, Justice Sule Hassan.
As early as 8.57am yesterday, EFCC operatives were in court with Fani-Kayode and Usman, former ministers of Aviation and Finance respectively.
But their arraignment was stalled following the absence of
the presiding judge who was said to be away on official engagement.
Fani-Kayode who was the spokesman of Jonathan presidential campaign during the 2015 elections was charged alongside Usman and two others by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) which accused them of money laundering to the tune of N4.9 billion.
Other accused are one Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited.
