Few weeks after some Osun State government officials were kidnapped along the same route, the chairman and secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Mr. Ishola Balogun-Fulani and Chief Bode Adekanye respectively, were kidnapped yesterday at gun point along Lokoja-Okene road in Kogi State on their way back to Ilorin from Abuja.

The news, which spread like wildfire across the state, was confirmed by the state publicity secretary.

Buhari when contacted by our correspondent for reaction initially said it was not true because he spoke with the chairman not quite long before the rumour of their kidnap began spreading but later confirmed the incident.

“The news has been confirmed. They have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen,” he said
The incident according to Buhari, occurred at about 10 am yesterday while Balogun-Fulani and Adekanye were returning to Ilorin from Abuja.

“We received a call from the chairman’s line telling us of the kidnapping. No ransom was demanded and all attempts to make further enquiries have proved abortive as the line is no longer available,” the APC spokesman stated.
